Hi Friends:

I am working on my next tale of the fairies. ;) I found a pig statue awhile back and it had 3 pigs graduating in size on it and I thought oh I can alter and do an assemblage on this piece and create 3 fairies riding the pigs in a sort of "when Pigs Fly" fairytale. Well hmph..... If the fairies sit on the pigs you can't see the other pigs faces soooooooooooooooooooo now I am really altering the pigs cutting them apart to get the largest pig off the statue to make just one fairy riding a pig. Not to mention I have NO SAW big enough to cut them down and hate to ask DH to do it because he has been dead tired after work.LOL So I am using a Kitchen bread knife. HOLY COW or should I say PIGS my arm is about to fall off from sawing and cutting. Soon I'll post some pics of the Pig surgery. ;)

A bit about the pictures

The studio (the little white building) started out as an old garden shed We still have some landscaping, window boxes, etc to do but it's coming right along. The interior I painted a soft Robins egg blue with white trim and ceiling. I love that color, it's my happy muse color. =) I left the floors the original plank wood floors, they seemed easy to clean and I like that rustic look. As you can see I have a cute little day bed in the studio, sometimes meditating on an idea or just a plain old afternoon nap is all it takes to inspire the next creation. My DH gifted me with all the modern conveniences, air conditioning (a must in Florida) Cable Tv, Computer, and of course the Ipod dock. It's quite a little home away from home place. I am searching for more art for the walls and petite crystal chandeliers for the lighting instead of the ugly bulbs there now. ;) I just have to have my bling bling. The woods are as far as you can see and filled with all kinds of adventures. I posted some pictures of a little cottage garden I am working on at the front of the house. The birds and butterflies go crazy here. I love that.

Where did my summer go? I moved to a new home, my Secret Garden so to speak. We are a sweet cottage in the middle of an enchanted forest of birds, butterflies, bunnies, tortoise, fox and coyote. I am sure there may be a few bear, skunk and other furry friends roaming about they just haven't showed themselves to us yet. In time I am sure they will. It's befitting we call this place Notre Petite Maison (our sweet cottage). The Studio started out as a garden shed and thanks to my loving husband it is a wonderful working studio. While it's functional now it's not quite finished yet. My mind see's the cobblestone pathway & patio, the french gothic picket fence and lush florals that will surrounded it yet my body hasn't made it happen yet. The interior will be graced with petite crystal chandeliers and my resting daybed will be much more inviting soon.I can walk from my front door in pajama's, stop and smell the roses & wildflowers and feed the birds all on my journey to work. What more could I ask for?The fall brings on work at Notre Petite Maison. I am designing a Kitchen Garden that will invite florals for cutting, herbs, vegetables and sweet fruits. We hope to begin planting by February so there is much work to be done. The studio gardens, walkway and patio hopefully will be worked on too this fall. I will be posting some pics of our home and studio. I hope you will join me.
